No upfront fees. You pay only after removal. How it works

FAQ

Reddit removal questions, answered.

Straight answers. No guarantees we cannot keep.

Can you remove a Reddit post?

Where the post breaks the Reddit Rules, a community's rules, privacy protections or copyright law, we prepare and pursue a removal request. Posts that are civil, honest opinion generally stay: Reddit has stated that good-faith criticism is allowed. We assess which category your post is in before anything is filed. Our removal success rate is 94%.

Do you charge upfront?

No. There are no upfront fees. You receive a fee quote before any work starts, and you pay only after the content has been removed. If it is not removed, you owe nothing for the removal.

How will I know the content has been removed?

Reddit does not delete pages or show a "page not found" error. The address keeps loading and shows a removal notice instead of the content. A post shows a notice such as "[removed]", "Removed by moderator", "Removed by Reddit's filters" or "Removed by legal team". A comment shows "[removed]". A banned subreddit shows that the community has been banned. A banned user's profile stays online, with the username shown as "[deleted]" on its posts and comments. We confirm the result to you, normally with a dated screenshot in your client portal.

Can you remove Reddit comments?

Yes, where a comment harasses, shares private information, impersonates or makes provably false claims about an identifiable person. Comments that are merely negative or critical usually cannot be removed. The permalink to the specific comment is what a reviewer needs.

Can I remove a negative Reddit post about my business?

Only if it has a valid basis: it breaks a Reddit Rule, shares private information, infringes your copyright, or states provably false facts. Reddit's own 2024 report shows it declining demands aimed at honest negative experiences and at fabricated "legal" notices. We tell you which side your post is on.

Can you request removal of a subreddit?

We can request review of a community where there is a serious or repeated policy issue. Reddit has banned communities, such as five harassment-focused subreddits in 2015 and about 2,000 in 2020, but the bar is behaviour, not opinion. Often the realistic goal is action on specific content or on moderator behaviour.

Can a Reddit user be banned?

Moderators can ban a user from their community, and Reddit can suspend an account sitewide. We document the conduct and submit reports to the right decision maker. We cannot ban anyone ourselves, and we never try to identify anonymous users.

Can you appeal a Reddit account ban?

Yes. Sitewide suspensions are appealed to Reddit's admins, who reversed about 18.6% of appeals in the second half of 2024. Community bans are appealed to that community's moderators. We prepare a short, specific appeal and send it through the right channel.

How long does Reddit removal take?

Reddit does not publish typical response times. Clear privacy or safety violations tend to move faster than disputed reputation cases, which can take longer and may need more than one submission. You get a realistic view after assessment, not a promise before.

Can Reddit content affect Google search results?

Yes. Reddit posts often rank for names and brands: SISTRIX has tracked reddit.com among the most visible domains in Google's US results. Removing the content at source is the durable fix, and results update once Google recrawls the page. Google also has tools for removing personal information.

Can you remove personal information from Reddit?

Yes. Posting someone's private information to instigate harassment breaks Reddit Rule 3. Send the URL as soon as you see it, because speed matters. Afterward, Google's own tools can remove the same details from search results.

Can you submit copyright or DMCA complaints?

Yes, for works you own. A valid notice identifies the work and the infringing material, includes contact details and a statement of good faith, and a statement under penalty of perjury. Reddit actioned 74% of the copyright notices it received in the second half of 2024. We do not file for content you do not own.

Can I sue Reddit over something a user posted?

In the United States, Section 230 generally protects platforms from liability for user posts, and the Ninth Circuit applied it to Reddit in Does v. Reddit (2022). The author can be liable. This is general information, not legal advice; speak to a lawyer about your situation.

Can a court order Reddit to remove a post?

A court can order the author to remove a defamatory post. Because of Section 230, courts have held they generally cannot order the platform to, as in Hassell v. Bird (California Supreme Court, 2018), which concerned Yelp. That is why a platform's own reporting process matters so much.

Can you find out who posted it?

No, and we do not try. Courts require a substantial showing before they will unmask an anonymous online speaker (Dendrite, Cahill). If you are considering legal action against an author, that is a matter for a lawyer.

Does Reddit remove defamatory posts?

Reddit reviews each legal demand against the Reddit Rules first. In the second half of 2024 it received 126 legal demands from private parties, removed 41% of the content identified for breaking the Rules and declined to act on 58%. Defamation claims without a Rules violation are often declined.

Will deleting my own post remove the comments?

Deleting your post removes it from public view, but other people's comments belong to their authors, and copies, quotes and screenshots elsewhere are unaffected. Be careful with third-party mass-delete tools; Reddit warns they are not officially supported.

Do you guarantee Reddit removal?

No. We work to get content deleted and we pursue every valid route, but final enforcement decisions are made by Reddit or the relevant community moderators. Anyone who guarantees removal is not telling you the truth. That said, our removal success rate is 94%, and we know what we do. We also work on a pay-after-removal basis: you pay for the result, not for the attempt.

What is your removal success rate?

Our removal success rate is 94%. Reddit and community moderators make the final decision on every case, so we can never promise a specific outcome for yours, and honest criticism is generally allowed to stay. What we can promise is an honest assessment first, a written quote before any work starts, and no fee unless the content is removed.

What happens after you submit a removal request?

We track the response, follow up where the process allows and tell you the next step: resubmit with stronger evidence, escalate through another route, or stop if there is no realistic path.

Are you affiliated with Reddit?

No. We are an independent business, not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Reddit, Inc. We have no special access to Reddit. We work through its public reporting and appeal routes, together with our own methods and experience.

Are the statistics on this site current?

Each figure names its source and period. Reddit publishes its transparency report twice a year and audience figures each quarter, so newer numbers may exist at the source. We link to every source so you can check.
