No upfront fees. You pay only after removal. How it works

Reddit search reputation.

People rarely read a Reddit post from the top. They see the Google snippet. That snippet can define you.

This is for you if

Sound familiar?

  • 01

Searching your name returns a Reddit post on page one.

  • 02

A Reddit result appears next to your company in AI or search summaries.

  • 03

A post is old but still ranking.

  • 04

You want to know what is actually visible before deciding.

How Reddit handles this

What actually decides the outcome.

01

Why Reddit posts show up for your name

Reddit has become one of the most visible domains in Google's results: SISTRIX has tracked reddit.com among the top five domains by visibility in the U.S. Reddit itself reports 130.3 million daily active uniques and 514.6 million weekly as of mid-2026. A post about a company or person can therefore rank for their name and be the snippet people read before they call.

02

Fix the source first, then the search result

The durable fix is removing the page at its source. Once it is gone, Google drops it after the next recrawl, which can take days or weeks. For personal information, Google's removal tools can shorten that. For the EU and UK, the Google Spain ruling and GDPR Article 17 provide routes to ask for delisting of results about a person that are inadequate, irrelevant or excessive, always balanced against freedom of expression and the public interest.

03

What to do about content that has to stay

Some Reddit content is legitimate and will stay. For that, the honest options are a factual, identified public reply, genuine new content that answers the same questions, and monitoring so you see changes early. We do not create fake accounts or post fake praise; the FTC's consumer reviews rule, effective October 2024, prohibits fake reviews in the United States and allows civil penalties for knowing violations.

How we handle it

Our route, step by step.

  1. 01

    Audit visibility

Which Reddit URLs appear for your name and brand searches, and where.

  2. 02

    Pursue removal

For URLs with a valid basis, we pursue removal at source. Once removed, search results update as engines recrawl.

  3. 03

    Use search tools

Where content is outdated or removed, engines' removal request tools can speed up de-indexing.

  4. 04

    Manage what stays

The rulebook

Reddit rules that apply.

Search problems start at the source. Where a Reddit post carries private details, this rule gives us the basis to remove it.

  • Rule 3

    Respect the privacy of others

Personal details in a Reddit post can be removed at the source under this rule, and Google has its own process for personal contact information that appears in its results. The two routes work on different things.

Paraphrased from the official Reddit Rules. Moderators also enforce each community's own rules, under Reddit's Moderator Code of Conduct.

By the numbers

What the data shows.

How searchers find Reddit, and how much they trust what they read, is what makes a single post visible.

Legal background

The law behind it.

Europe's "right to be forgotten", and rules on online reviews, affect what can be requested from Google and what cannot.

Court case · Court of Justice of the European Union · 2014

Google Spain SL v. AEPD and González

Case C-131/12 (CJEU, 13 May 2014)

The Court held that a search engine operator is responsible for the personal data in results it lists, and that individuals can ask for links to be removed when the data is inadequate, irrelevant, no longer relevant or excessive, unless there is a public interest such as the person's role in public life.

Why it matters here: The basis of the "right to be forgotten" in search results across the EU. It acts on search listings, not on the underlying Reddit page.

Court case · Court of Justice of the European Union · 2019

Google LLC v. Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL)

Case C-507/17 (CJEU, 24 September 2019)

France's data regulator wanted Google to delist results on every version of its search engine worldwide. The Court held that EU law requires delisting on the versions of the search engine for all EU Member States, with measures to discourage EU users from reaching the results, but does not currently require delisting worldwide.

Why it matters here: A successful delisting request normally changes what people in the EU see, not what everyone sees. Removing the source post is more complete than delisting it.

Regulation · United States (Federal Trade Commission) · 2024

FTC Rule on the Use of Consumer Reviews and Testimonials

16 CFR Part 465

Effective October 21, 2024, the rule prohibits fake or false consumer reviews and testimonials, buying or conditioning reviews, undisclosed insider reviews, and review suppression through threats or intimidation. Courts can impose civil penalties for knowing violations.

Why it matters here: It cuts both ways: a business cannot seed fake praise, and it should not threaten reviewers to silence them. Honest evidence of a fake review is a legitimate basis for a report.

Real public cases

How it has played out.

Public case · 2018 · not a client of ours

2018: two businessmen ask Google to delist old convictions, with different results

Type
Search delisting under data protection law
Where
Google Search, England and Wales
What happened
Two businessmen with spent criminal convictions sued Google over search results linking to reports about those convictions, relying on data protection law and misuse of private information.
What was done
In NT1 and NT2 v Google LLC [2018] EWHC 799 (QB), the High Court weighed privacy against the public's interest in information. It ordered delisting for one claimant and refused it for the other.
Outcome
One claimant won delisting. The other lost.
What it teaches
Delisting depends on the facts: how old the information is, rehabilitation, conduct since, and the person's role in public life. It is not automatic, and it does not remove the underlying page.

Public case · 2022 · not a client of ours

2022: Google widens what personal information it will remove from Search

Type
Platform policy change
Where
Google Search
What happened
People could ask Google to remove results mainly for financial-fraud data such as bank and card numbers, or for doxxing.
What was done
On April 27, 2022, Google widened its policy to cover personal contact details, such as phone numbers, email and home addresses, and other identity-theft risks such as login credentials. It still weighs public interest.
Outcome
People can ask Google directly, without a court order.
What it teaches
Removing a Reddit post fixes the source. Google's own request process can then clear the same details from search results.

The outcome

What success looks like.

  • 1

    The page stops ranking

After the source post is removed, search engines gradually drop or update the result. The timing is theirs, not ours.

  • 2

    Snippets and caches are updated

We ask for cached copies and old snippets to be refreshed where the search engine has a process for it.

  • 3

    You see the results yourself

We check the search terms you care about before and after, and show you both.

Before you do anything

Mistakes that make it harder.

  • Asking Google first

While the post is live, there is nothing for a search engine to remove. The source comes first.

  • Expecting results to change overnight

Search engines refresh on their own schedule, so the old snippet can linger for a while.

  • Burying instead of removing

New content can push a result down, but it does not remove it. The two jobs are different.

Questions

About reddit search reputation.

If Reddit removes a post, is it gone from Google?

It leaves results after search engines recrawl, which can take days or weeks. Search removal tools can speed this up.

Can you remove Reddit from Google directly?

Only where the search engine's own policies allow it. The strongest fix is removing the content at source.

“Reddit content had become a recurring issue for our business. I contacted the team after trying other options myself. They gave me a clear assessment, explained the process, and kept me updated instead of leaving me guessing.”
